Rotarians Read to Third Graders
Students, Volunteers enjoy books, apple dumplings together!
Many thanks to members of the Rotary Club who volunteered in schools
in late March!
Rotary members visited every third-grade classroom in Michigan City
Area Schools to read "Andy and Elmer's Apple Dumpling Adventure" by
Andrew J. Shoup, which teaches values such as friendship and fairness.
(Characters in the book learn four questions honored by Rotary
International as the "four way test": Is it the truth? Is it fair to
all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? and Will
it be beneficial to all concerned?)
Students at Coolspring had an extra special treat; Rotary members provided apple dumplings for students after they read the book to them!

Teachers Rich Pearson and Laura Calusa enjoy dumplings with students.
